Kendall Jenner has finally addressed one of the longest-running rumors surrounding her friendship with fellow model Cara Delevingne.
For more than a decade, the two have maintained a close friendship, but their public appearances and strong bond have also fueled speculation that their relationship may once have been romantic.
Now, Kendall is setting the record straight.
In the newly released trailer for Season 8 of The Kardashians, Kendall directly addresses the rumors during a confessional.
“There’s definitely a rumor that Cara and I dated, which is not true,” she says.
The trailer then cuts to a lighter moment between the two models at a L’Oréal fashion event.
Rather than treating the speculation seriously, Kendall decides to joke about it.
Turning toward Cara, she says she has “nothing against” having sex with her before adding, “Never say never.”
Cara immediately breaks into laughter.
The exchange appears to show the longtime friends taking the internet speculation in stride, despite the fact that Kendall has previously spoken about how frustrating some of the rumors surrounding her personal life can be.
Earlier this year, Jenner discussed speculation about her sexuality during a podcast appearance. She explained that what bothered her most was not simply the speculation itself, but the harsh way some people online discussed it.
Kendall said that if she identified differently, she would have no problem being open about it. She also pushed back against the idea that she was secretly hiding something from the public.
Her comments in the new trailer appear to continue that approach: addressing the rumor directly while refusing to let it define her friendship with Cara.
Kendall and Cara have known each other for more than a decade, and Jenner has previously credited Delevingne with helping open doors for her in the modeling world.
Their friendship has therefore remained an important part of Kendall’s life, even as both women have built successful careers of their own.
The new season of The Kardashians is expected to explore relationships, personal changes and new chapters for the Kardashian-Jenner family.
With Kendall’s dating life becoming part of the conversation once again, fans will likely be watching closely to see whether she shares more about her personal life—or continues to keep some details away from the cameras.
